About us
The CCM programme has been established as a joint initiative by the Research Information Network (RIN) and the Consortium of Research Libraries (CURL). Both RIN and CURL have a strong focus on ensuring the most effective use of research resources in the UK:
RIN exists "to generate and analyse the evidence on how researchers discover, handle and create information; to suggest and promote improvements in policies, practices and services."
CURL's mission statement is "to increase the ability of research libraries to share resources for the benefit of the local, national and international research community is close to the heart of collaborative collection management."
The RIN/CURL CCM Programme objectives:
- Supporting collaboration between libraries
- Facilitating improvement of collections at institutional level
- Promoting the ideal of a Distributed UK Research Collection
- Enhancing research resource discovery through work with RIN, CURL and CCM programmes
- Contributing to the national framework of research support in the UK
